How Does Restylane^®  Work?

Much like BOTOX^®, Restylane consists of a medical professional administering several tiny facial injections into the areas intended for enhancement. Restylane is made up of Hyaluronic Acid, which is a naturally occurring substance in the human body. By effectively connecting with your skin tissue, it adds fullness and volume to your skin, and is extremely effective at smoothing out deep creases in the skin such as smile lines. It can also be used to add fullness to lips.

Restylane is FDA approved for treatment of all areas of the face. Since it does bind with the skin tissue, the results typically last at least 9 months, with some results lasting a year or longer.

What can I expect with a Restylane^® Treatment?

The treatment is a little more sensitive then BOTOX, so your doctor may give you some local anesthesia so the procedure is painless. The entire process only lasts about 20 minutes, and the results are often instant!
