How the ReSTOR® works
ReSTOR® is a replacement lens that uses focusing zones that allow for distance, reading, and intermediate vision. These zones are separated enough that our brain ignores the reading zone while viewing distant objects, and ignores the distance zone while reading.
Glare and halos, problems that plagued all other multi-focal lens replacements, have been alleviated with a patented design using apodization - tiny incremental steps between zones. The result of apodization is a dramatic reduction in glare and halos, providing clear vision in day and night conditions. Only the ReSTOR® lens provides excellent reading vision.
The ReSTOR® lens allows for crisp vision for distance and reading
- In bright daylight
- In the low light conditions of nighttime
- In presence of streetlights
- When driving into oncoming headlights
The ReSTOR® lens eliminates the need for cataract surgery in the future
because it replaces your natural lens. A cataract
cannot develop if the human lens has already been removed.

"I had the ReSTOR lens surgery in August, 2005, with
perfect results. I had worn trifocal glasses or bifocal contacts for 50
years. I can now see things at a distance, which I could never see before
or read the newspaper, a book, or work on the computer without reading glasses.
I am so excited and happy with my new vision, I tell all my relatives and
friends about ReSTOR implants. Within four (4) weeks of my surgery, I was
back to riding and competing in barrel racing events on my horses. Thank
you for sharing my amazing and wonderful experience with ReSTOR. Thank you
Dr. Beim for changing my life."
